Questions Configuration / Installation Wibeee
Problem | Cause | Solution |
I am unable to download the App to my phone. | iOS version 10 or later on iPhone, or Android version 6.0 or later on Android, is required. | Check the operating system version of your phone and update it if possible. Otherwise, use another device (mobile, tablet, PC...). |
The App is not available on Huawei AppGallery. | Use another iPhone or Android mobile device, tablet, PC…
The blue LED does not light up / the Wibeee _XX:XX:XX network does not appear. | The Wibeee is not generating the network to be able to connect to it. | Press the Reset button on the device for 6 seconds until the LEDs (red and blue) blink alternaly. Check the LEDs status for more information. |
The Wibeee_XX:XX:XX network is visible but I can't connect to it. | Some smartphones will not connect to WiFi networks that do not have an internet connection. | Make sure that you have the option to connect to WiFi networks with no internet connection enabled. |
Some smartphones prioritise 3G/4G when connected to a WiFi network with no internet connection. | Put the device in flight mode or disable mobile data whilst leaving WiFi enabled.
My WiFi network does not appear in the Wibeee's list of networks. | The Wibeee operates in the 2.4 GHz band and does not display 5 GHz WiFi networks. | Use a 2.4 GHz band WiFi network to set up the meter. |
The WiFi network is hidden. | Temporarily unhide the network in order to continue with the installation.
There is no good WiFi coverage in the electrical switchboard area. | Check WiFi coverage (use an app like WiFi Analyzer, Fing...) and refresh the list. If the problem persists, consider installing a repeater near the Wibeee.
I have selected my WiFi network and entered the password, but the setup has not been completed successfully | The password entered is incorrect. | Repeat the configuration. You should have the option to view the password and/or test the network credentials on the phone itself and copy and paste them into the App. |
The WiFi password is more than 32 characters. | In order to configure the Wibeee, we recommend changing the password.
The installation is correct and the blue LED has blinked, but does not stay on steady | The password is correct and valid but the meter cannot authenticate itself within the network. | For Proxy servers (Radius, Enterprise...), MAC filters, or Firewalls that prevents internet output, create an exception for the Wibeee's MAC. Check that ports 53, 80 and 8080 are open (output). |
The device does not send data via MODBUS | MODBUS has not been selected for sending data or the IP is not set to Static IP | The IP must be statically configured and once configured, enter the new established IP to configure the type of data sending by Modbus (See Modbus configuration guide). |
The XML request is not working | The IP does not match the Wibeee's actual IP or the device's ID (name) does not match the one Wibeee is configured to. | You must confirm the device's IP as well as the configured name (default WIBEEE) and then re-perform the XML request. |
