Modbus TCP Setup (Old Firmware)

Wibeee meters allow data to be measured in real-time via the Modbus TCP communication protocol without the need to connect to the Wibeee Nest platform.

Configuration via the internal page

To use the Wibeee meter in Modbus mode, you do not need to download or register on the Wibeee Nest platform.

  1. Install the meter in the electrical panel, according to the instructions specific to the Wibeee model. You can refer to the links at the bottom of this page and access the meter's step-by-step installation guide, depending on your model.

  2. Access the system's internal page via the meter's IP.

  3. In the Modbus TCP section, activate the Off-On button.

If the Modbus TCP section does not appear, you can activate Modbus in the General Options section, by filling in the Data Refresh Time field with a -1.

4. In the Advanced Options section, adjust the settings to connect the meter to the network infrastructure:

  • For networks with open security, keep the OPEN selection in the Security field.

  • For networks with a hidden SSID:

    i. Select the appropriate option for the network from the Security drop-down list.

ii. In the Network section, open the Network SSID drop-down menu and select the Other... option.

iii. Complete the Other network ID (SSID) field with the network name.

iv. Enter the password for the network in the Key field.

5. Click Apply to save changes to the meter. A configuration confirmation message will be received, click OK.

After applying the Modbus settings, the meter restarts with the new settings. The following behaviour can be observed on the system LEDs:

Status

Description

Blinking

Off

Restarting

The system is restarting to apply the configuration changes.

Blinking

Fast blinking

Operating in Modbus mode

The Modbus configuration has been successfully set on the meter.
